π Before sharing your project with the world, we encourage you to test and optimize your projectβs location on-site for iOS & Android. The reason is, GPS and VPS accuracy can vary based on address and coordinates give or take ~5m. We developed an on-site AR Edit tool to allow you optimize the positioning directly from your mobile device for the best audience experience.

Note: You can only user AR Edit on models that you or someone in your organization published.
AR Edit best practices
Models need to be positioned by Android and iOS separately to account for device-specific GPS readings. Visit the project site with an Android and iOS device and use AR Edit tool to position the model on each device.
For best results:
- When available, inCitu uses Streetscape Geometry alongside the geospatial anchor to improve model positioning automatically.
- Refresh AR 3β4 times before making edits to limit variance and ensure you are editing from the most accurate position possible.
- Watch the accuracy indicator in AR Edit before saving:
π΄ Red β poor accuracy (wait or reposition before saving, consider using off-site mode only)
π Orange β medium accuracy;
π’ Green β high accuracy
- If your model drifts severely within a small distance, you may have misaligned the distance and scale. To avoid optical illusions with AR positioning, do not walk around while in edit mode. We recommend starting from a corner close to the model and editing in the following order, adjusting from near to far: Lat/Lon/Rotation > Scale > Altitude (only if needed).
iOS AR Edit tool
- Download the inCitu iOS app
- Login with your inCituAR account credentials
- Open your project from the desired on-site viewpoint
- Toggle on the AR edit toolbar and adjust the longitude, latitude, altitude, scale, and rotation.
